URGENT!!!Car keeps stalling.. 850

Right on--after first telling me it is probably the fuel pump, the
mechanic listened to a rattling noice in the engine and also a similar noise coming from around the tail pipe--and said that my CAT was falling apart.
Also, the EQS (?) failed and a hose collecting it kind of burned up. He is gettign the parts now, and is pretty confident that was the cause of the
stalling.

By the way, this is extremely expensive to fix: New CAT plus EQS valve.
