Volvo 3 electrode vs. Bosch 1 electrode spark plugs 850 1993

What is the difference between the official Volvo 3 electrode spark plugs I got from my local dealer and the Bosch 1 electrode spark plugs I got from IPD?

Is it the same idea as the 'Splitfire' plug and the more electrodes supposed to improve performance or mileage?

Personally in my '93 850 I like the Bosch over the Volvo. Also, at least for me, the Volvo plugs didn't last very long compared to the Bosch before a decline in performance.

What are the opinions of others out there?
