installed new evap but now fan/radio don't work 850 1995

Hey eveyone,

I decided to replace my own evaporator. So I bought the complete kit and installed it. I put everything back together and was getting ready to take it to a shop to have it evacuated and charged. However, I noticed that all the controls for my ECC work except for the fan. At first I thought it was a bad fan but then I thought that there was a similar plug near the fan, maybe I crossed them. So I switched plugs and the fan went on. But this was not the correct plug because I had the fan speed to zero and the fan was going at the highest setting. So I switched them back and still the fan doesn't work. Then I plugged in my radio and noticed that it was smoking. I took the entire dash out again and tried to reconnect all the wires. Everything seems to be connected in the right place (or so I think). Does anyone know what this could be? So much for doing something myself! Please help!!!

Looking through old posts, I noticed that some blower issues were the result of a resistor pack failing. Could this be the case? I remember that when I assembled the evap and everything else I notice that the resistor pack was dirty, so I cleaned it off with a damp towel. Could this have made the pack go bad?

But that doesn't explain the smoking radio. Someone please help!!!!!!
