I think that it is curious that someone with a car under warranty would not take it in to their dealer for its first major service. They have a lot of experience with things on your car that cause trouble. Even a simple thing like properly lubricating your door hinges could avert an expensive repair down the road. Coupes have big doors.

If your dealer has any interest in serving you well, this is the time. Routine maintenance should be reasonably priced, and if you have any gripes with the car, you should mention them in a matter-of-fact manner. I'll bet that they address them.

To paraphrase Dale Carnegie (?) "I rather like cream and strawberries, but when I go fishing, I use worms. That's what the fish like"

Believe it or not, most dealers want a happy, repeat customer. This would be a great oppurtunity to establish a mutually profitable relationship.

Besides, any brick owner who gives advice to a prospective buyer tells them to look for service records. You do plan on selling the car someday don't you?
