OEM the only way to go 850 1997

How can you go wrong with OEM anything? I was talking to my dealer mechanic today while my car was in for maintenance (installing new rotors and pads) and he stated that he has seen so many people put "aftermarket this" and "aftermarket that" on their cars only to have problems down the road with them--crossed drilled rotors included--they warp easy. His advice (.02 cents) was simply "stay OEM". I'll put up with dust compared to the aircraft brake like shudder that I got with aftermarket pads installed when I did it.
