**CORRECTED POSTING** Failed emissions test 850 1997

> Any suggestions out there on what I can do to pass the emissions test without taking the car to a repair technician?

Buy new coolant temperature sensor and install? If the sensor fails then the ECU thinks the engine is 'cold' and adds more fuel.

You're now killing your cat as it's running rich (high HC content), so it's better to fix it..

The 'large' leak on the EVAP may be something simple like filling up with the engine running (bad idea) or not putting the fuel cap on properly (needs to screw in completely and 3 'clicks' when tightning). It might also indicate a leak/hole in the tank ir hoses though.. Check it out..

Bye, Arno.
