The only reason Black cars are hard to sell, is because they are hard to keep clean. I have never met a single person who does not like black cars. So depending on where you live, this is probably the reason that guy said what he did.

My '02 Land Cruiser is pretty close to the "champagne" color you refered to. It always looks pretty nice, I have never had a dark blue car, but I have had many dark red ones. My 850 is Venitian Red Metallic which is a very deep red, not quite maroon... it definately turns heads with a few coats of Zaino.
