Mistery Sensor where is it?

Found switch, it's in a bracket under the bumper on the left side (driver side in the States) of the car near the radiator.

I think it's it's because by diconnecting it, or by shorting the ttwo pins in the plug, I get different readings in the dash display unit.

My question is, is this is the common sensor that's used by the A/C ECU also and if so, why would it claim not to be working properly. Short of a miswaire to the ECU unit or its malfunction, are there any other possibilities?

thanks again.
