Tie Wraps, Heated Seats... 850 1994

I have to replace my seat back cable and I've heard that people have used tie wraps instead of hog rings to put the seat back together. My question is: Is it OK to use tie wraps on a heated seat? I don't want the plastic tie wrap to melt or anything!!
