Rebuild it yourself? 850 1994

It's not your father's '63 Dodge Dart. Or mother's '67 Beetle.....

Unlike the 960-SV90, the 850-SVC70 seems to be a fairly robust motor, and they are readily available from recyclers.

Even Volvo doesn't have the cajones to try rebuilding "White Motors" in the US, like the iron-block "Red Motors". I believe they're all "rebuilt" in a Volvo factory in Sweden. Did you know that some parts are actually glued together? I think I remember that one tech posted that every crated Volvo factory "rebuilt" 850 motor he had seen was actually a brand new motor. Maybe they recycle the crankshaft or something.

I'd look to a recycler. For a low mileage example, hopefully hit from behind.
