burning oil 850

The oil burning could be due to normal wear of the piston rings/valve guides. The type and weight of oil will also play a role in oil comsumption. Quality 10-30 or 15-40 for summer use(IMHO) 1 qt in 1300m isn't great, but isn't too bad, either. (My '93 850 burned a qt every 2000ish)

BTW, a tune-up will do nothing to change the oil consumption...although your car is certainly due for a tune-up (cap, rotor, wires, plugs, fuel filter, air filter, flame trap, serp. belt, t-stat & coolant) If your looking to save a few bucks, install the parts yourself!
