abs tracs 850

Look for recent posts by Gazzer and Frank, both Volvo certified techs. In the meantime, you can drive your car just the way it is....you just don't have ABS at the moment.

Gazzer hints that there are a couple solder fixes, and a hardwire jumper(?) or two. Frank suggests there may be a gel sealant around the board, and writes that Volvo is now recovering these units for remanufacturing. (Might check w/ Volvo or someone to see if you can find a remanufactured unit...) I think Gazzer repairs them, Frank sends them out.

The ABS unit is below the master cylinder (at least in my S70), not an easy spot to get to. You'll undoubdtedly have to disconnect brake lines so be prepared to bleed brakes afterward. Once disconnected, I doubt you can drive it until it's all back together.

In previous posts I've written that I would eagerly attempt this myself when the time comes (and I will), but I would have to learn a whole lot more than I know at this moment before I heated up the flowtank....or gave anymore advice than I have already. I'll be watching the posts here with interest. Good luck.
