I think if you read the Volvo VIP warranty you'll see that it specifically excludes trim upholstery things like that. Although it mght POSSIBLY get covered under Volvo "goodwill", depending on the dealer. You could always ask.

If it's not covered you might want to try an upholstery shop, they probably do stuff like this A LOT, and quite possibly better and cheaper than the dealer.

This is a known problem and Volvo had "rebuilt" door panels at one point.
