Sport mode causes the shift-points for the transmission to change.
It holds each gear a little longer at partial throttle in sport
mode. You can see this just by accelerating with the throttle
at about half way. Try the two settings and you see the tacometer
will show it shifting at a later point in sport mode.

If you floor it, the shift pattern is the same regardless of the
setting (so sport mode does not have an affect on max acceleration).
