Service Light on Dash V70-XC70 2001

Since I perform most of my own maintenance (oil/filter changes, brakes, and rotating tires, etc.) , I have need to find a way to turn off that pesky "Service" light that appears every 7500 miles or so. I was told by the service person at my Volvo dealer that it's possible that it could be turned off by pressing a combination of buttons, pressing brake pedal, etc. Anyone out there that is familar with this? If so please leave a posting.
