850 ? S70? S80...etc... etc.... anyone knows what is the different between them? 850 1995

850(mostly fwd, awd avail in euro)-->s70/v70(same platform as ur 850, just rounder face, fwd/awd)-->s60/v70 (new p2 platform,fwd/awd)
all use inline-5 engine variants
targeted mostly at c-class, a4, 3-series

940/960(rwd)-->s90/v90(rwd)-->s80 (fwd, no wagon avail, new p2 platform)
donno about older 940/960/s90, but s80 uses the same inline-5 (in other countries) as well as the same basic 5 cylinder +1 inline-6 variants
targeted mostly at e-class, a6, 5-series

there really isn't a "better" in volvo...definitely, the 40-series is the low end of volvo. but 850/60/70/80/940/960/90 is fuzzier...although more likely the s80 is the most expensive...but comparing 850 to 940 is really...well, different...the 850 was targeted at a very sporting consumer and came out later so it has a more richly apointed interior, while the 940/960 was the flagship, it came out earlier and was not quite luxurious is some ways, and it was a comfy sedan, volvo's version of cadillac ride...
