...but ABS and real safety

Only time I've engaged the ABS is on Volvo service loaners where I "forgot" it was a loaner with AT and slammed my left foot down to disengage the clutch .... and hit the left edge of the brake pedal instead.

MOST, if not all cars in the Volvo price class have ABS standard. The the 911 only received ABS in 1990 and the Viper received it just recently and the McLaren F-1 was never equipped with ABS, but that's because if you're on a track and focusing on what you're doing you can bring a car down faster without the ABS. Usually. And that's if you practice regularly. At least that's what we did at the Skip Barber course. But you really have to be focused to do that, not drinking coffee and listening to the stereo or talking on a cell phone. I'm unsure the McLarens even have stereos. (The v-12 is what I'd be listening to!)
