what is that noise when i push the gas pedal V70-XC70 1998

ok i drive a 98 v70r awd just bought it a couple a months ago with 87k miles it seems to run good with awsome power but has a strange sound coming from the engine (or exahst) I only notice it when I'm on the gas ..i thought it might be the o rings in the oil pan cause it does sound like lifter or valve noise (from past experiences it sounds like it needs a valve adjustment but this model has a hydrolic lifters so no valve adjust on this car) and i just changed all the ruber gaskets in the pan what a nightmare I had to disconect the pwr steering lines and part of the swaybar to get it out what a mess after all said and done it still has the same noise ????? what the f$#% could it be an exahst leak ???? any ideas would be apreciated
