Just got my '97 855R yesterday. 850 1997

I have been reading this board, but not posting for a while. I have been mostly posting over on Swedespeed.com. Lots of good info and people on this board, I have enjoyed reading it so far and now I am a registered poster :)

I got an R for really cheap, but it needs some work. The exhaust is totaly rusted, no holes yet, but they can't be too far off. I am going to get it IPD exhaust as soon as I get a little more money. The breaks are also not working very well. I was hoping for some input on the break master cylinder. When you press the break pedal down it goes a long way before you get any break action. At the same time there is an air sucking sound, vacuum seal or something? Any ideas as to what this would be would be great. Also any idea how much a '97 break master cylinder is going to run me? $300-$500?
