Thanks for the heads-up on the installation. I had the new ABS Control Module installed about a week ago by an Independent Volvo Shop (instead of doing it myself). I double-checked with Volvo of Houston (formerly Nils Sefeldt Volvo) and they said the part is warranted for 12 months. I have no reason to suspect Volvo of Houston would not honor their word. They've been very reliable over the years on parts and answering questions.

The new control unit is functioning correctly. I tried a few panic stops on dry pavement and wet pavement and the ABS system operated fine.
