heated seat - wires & temp setting 850

'96 855T -

So, I finally looked under the driver's seat to see if I can quickly fix the broken heated seat (the switch lights on, but feel no heat). I see a red wire going to a small white plastic housing that looks like a connector. I see another red/white wire going to the same plastic housing, and the two housings are taped together side-by-side and don't go anywhere. The search on the topic indicates they should be hooked up to.. the relay? How do I get access in there w/o taking the seat apart? I see a circular opening in the seat foam, but without a dentist's angled mirror, I can't possibly try to put them into anything.

Another question is, is the seat heater suppoed to work above certain ambiant temperature? Almost had the shop look into it, but thinking the ambient temp. needs to be below a preset setting, I decided not the spend the money.

If it weren't for a injured finger, I'd just start take things apart, but it's rather painful to even type, so need guidance from someone.

TIA.
