Have I Unknowingly Caused a Fault Code?

There is no warning light on. But why should there be an electrical connection to the hinge where the seat(bottom part, if you pardon the pun) mounted? I thought that seats, doors, lights, etc etc were monotored by the on board computer, as well as the engine and tranny. The car was driven without the seat in place, so will that not cause a fault code of some kind to be registered in the computer?
Thanks for the help
