850 transmission service

When transmission service is done on a automatic transmission 850 Is it a drain and refill or is it a flush? or niether ? also is there a transmission filter on a volvo 850 or is there a screen , that has to be replaced or cleaned out? I am not very technical and I was listening to a auto show on the radio today and they were discussing this topic.
