How do you like your new V70? V70-XC70

Do any of you here own a base '01 or '02 V70 2.4, whether it be a manual or automatic? If so, do you like the ride, and do you think its performance is at least adequate? I am thinking about getting a leftover '02 V70 base to replace my '93 850 (which is still a good car, by the way). Yeah, and can you still get a stripper model with cloth upholstery, no power seats, and a 5-speed?
