half-shaft fit? 850 1995

Hi,
I just finished replacing the right half-shaft on my 95 850 turbo wgn. with a remanufactured unit. Many thanks to the people here, your posts make all the difference for someone like me.
The left reman. half-shaft I received is different from the existing one. The splines appear the same as compared to my old right unit sitting the bench. However the new left unit has slightly larger diameter threaded portion of the shaft and no grove and different style nut. Will it fit? Also, is this a self-locking axle nut or what? It is the kind that has 3 groves on the outside edge. How is it secured? New to me.
