Front Stabilizer bar link............how do I know if it needs replaced? 850 1995

Dealer says the pair needs replaced. I have no obvious suspension problems (rattles,etc). What would be the sign/symptom if these do in fact need replaced?
Dealer quoted $149 for the pair. Ebay sells them for $20, do it yourself job?
