Starting problems 850 1996

Giving it gas to cause it to start isn't very good for a fuel injected car, although it suggests the posssibility the fuel system needs cleaning and/or the fuel filter should be changed. Really by 78k it should be changed anyway ($20 part, easy to do). But maybe not that. I'm thinking if not that, starter coil, but I don't know any way for you to test that. Or maybe the wires going to that are bad?
