I am in the uk so this info may be different if you dont drive a uk spec car.
The daytime running lights for the uk have two modes:
1)the main headlamp unit has inbuilt side/parking lights(Not the dipped beam bulb!!!) these are the only lights that are on(no dash or rear lights)
2)by turning the little screw on the headlight switch you can choose your mode.
in this mode it is the same as before but the side marker lights on the front will illuminate and so will the rear.The rear will be at the same level as if the dipped beam was on.Also i think the dash lights up as well but dont quote me on that
