Zimmerman/Textar combination - 850R brake system 850 1997

Hello Ladies and Gents,

I have spent hours searching the archives for brake information, to no avail. I need to replace all the rotors and pads and need advice on manufacturers. I have visited all the sponsor sights above and have decided on the following:

- Zimmerman solid rotors - $134.00 total w/shipping (www.fcpgroton.com)
- Textar pads - $76.16 total w/shipping (www.alloemvolvoparts.com)

This seems like a good combination that will preserve the life of the rotor while maintaining the stopping power that has made this wagon famous. Through my research I have found this to be a healthy combination. I like Brembo rotors too, but it was another $40 for equally good rotors, and that did not seem justified. What have you all heard? I've heard Pagid are also good pads.

The Las Vegas Volvo dealership offered to replace the brakes with factory for just over $1,000. They did not know who made the components. They said "Volvo is on the box, so its Volvo".

Morons.
