Wagon rear door 850 1996

My "new" '96 850 wagon rear door, is one of those which does not like to stay open, as soon as it is open - down it comes, luckily not too quickly. This is one of the ones without any struts. How do you fix this? Is it going to cost an arm and a leg if the dealer does it?
And one other thing, the rear washer does not work, any one any idea what would cause this, and again the cost to fix it?
Appreciate any answers,
David "The Bear" Keighley
