Engine stops S60

Dear all ,
I have a new Volvo S60 (23.000km)and I have some engine problems. First sign was at 12.000 km when starting the engine I received the message "Try to slow down or shift up N38" . Ihave to mention that the engine was very noisy. At 15.000 km the lamp related to exhaustion system turn on. After that the engine was runnig noisy and stop after 5-10 minutes. This error is not permanent , sometimes once in a week sometimes four times a day. Volvo dealer says that the car is OK and not to worry. Not to worry on 100km/h when your engine stops???
Thanks in advance for any help.
Vivi
