THE WARRANTY DILEMMA ;-) S70

I really appreciate all the responses on my little dilemma.

I recently talked the Volvo dealer into increasing the warranty from 2year/24k miles to 3year/36k miles. I admit not a big increase for $1340.00 and still a gamble.

If any of you care to respond again, please feel free.. This is becoming great therapy in my decision making process. How often do things like the transmission and high-priced parts really break down after 70k miles? Is the turbo a common failure at high miles as well...

Considering I have about 700 miles of warranty left, should I have the transmission serviced? Is the transmission service just a fluid change?

Thanks Tremendously!

paul
