Driver seat belt 850 1996

On my recently aquired 850 the drivers side seat belt has a twist in it. The answer seems to be to release the bolt which secures the lower part of the belt, turn the belt and rebolt it. However the trim cover along the base of the drivers seat is in the way. Anyone know how to remove this trim?
