Yeah, for 1996 in some cases. Not 1998. 850 1997

The TSB for faulty crimps pertains to the 1996's. In 1998 the problem is with the module itself: the pc wafer card, the soldering, and sometimes both, develop cracks. Could the determined mechanic with patience and the right equipment rig jumpers around this? In some cases, yes, but it would be temporary. And then there's the matter of removing the silicone sealant that encapsulates this poor workmanship - enshrining it forever.
