It's a waste of time. Really.

Go to the TME website, not IPD. Did IPD tell that if you turn it too far, the ECU will just shut off your motor? It's true. The archived FAQ's (http://216.239.51.100/search?q=cache:fwV6WyD2tHIC:www.tme.com/perf_faq.htm+tme+faq+turbo+wastegate&hl=en&ie=UTF-8) from their previous site give some specific and technical terms. Alas, their current site is undergoing construction.

Turning the wastegate has some effect on older Volvos without ECU wastegate management. Perhaps this is what IPD was referring to, but even then, it's not the best way to gain additional performance, and the performance gain is marginal. I doubt 0-60 time would improve by a measurable amount.

A $35 manual boost controller will do far more - but as I wrote before, your turbo and engine will pay a higher price for the wow factor. Best way is an upgraded chip program, which you can get for either stock and free flow exhaust....your engine and turbo will be far better off, and you'll be pretty darn fast.

Me? I'm very happy at 6.5 sec. So far.
