hoses and elbows 850 1994

I don't think you're being obsessive at all. The only problem is the ridiculous cost of the elbows. They're just short pieces of formed vacuum tubing that should cost maybe 50 cents each. Volvo thinks they're worth about ten times that much.
A few months ago,I had a CEL and eventually found 4 elbows with holes in them. Several more were badly deteriorated, but didn't have any visible holes. The first two elbows were replaced with OEM, but the parts counter was closed before I found the other bad ones. I had some vacuum tubing on hand, so cut it to fit and replaced all the vacuum elbows on the engine. I originally planned to replace the homemade elbows later with OEM, but everything seems to be working fine as is. My car is a '94 850-Turbo with 98000 miles.
