Yeah.... 850

First, although everryone complains about the 850 ride, I've always complained about my T5/sports suspension ride... that it's too SOFT! Seriously!

I'd suspect Volvo changed the spring rates between the 850 and the SV70. Volvo standard size "Touring" tires on 15" wheels might help too.

So first try the '98-'00 SV70 anything but the T5 or R models.

As has been mentioned, the new gen '01- S60-V70 have a much stiffer body structure, and ride much better than the 850s.

I've tried a Passat and came back unimpressed. I know Consumer Reports rates the wagon highly, I'm sure that some people can stand the instrument lighting (worse than BMW's). I have my doubts both about their durability and about VW standing behind their product from all I've seen and heard.
