Thinking of purchasing an 850! 850

Greetings-

I am pondering buying an 850, as I have seen what I think are some good deals as of late. I really like the turbo wagons, in lieu of a 940.
Are these as durable/reliable and able to go 200-300,000 miles like B230's?
How do those turbo units fare (I have had a few B230 turbos's)?
I am told that an alternator rebuild/replace is costly, any truth to that?
What are some mechanical updates or other concerns that I should have when shopping 850's??
