1998 S70 Waterpump leak S70 1998

Hello,

I was just starting the procedure to replace my timing belt and when I removed the cover I could see a small amount of coolant below the water pump. I immediatly thought I would be changing the pump but upon closer insection the weep hole looks dry. It appears as if the leak is between the body of the pump and the block.

My question is: Is this common and what kind of seal is between them, gasket, silicone or o-ring?

Of course if I am there anyway I could just go ahead and replace the pump but I am not sure if I want to spend the $121 right now.

Thank you,

-Kenric
