Any tips on pulling out speedometer unit? 850 1994

I need to change my dashboard lights and I've gotten as far as removing half the dashboard cover and unplugging the unit and releasing the brass brackets. But I can't for the life of me figure out how to wiggle the $#%#!! unit out to access the back panel and remove the bad bulbs.

It's such a cramped space. Would it be easier to remove the entire dash; is it even possible without messing with the passenger airbag?

Any help would be appreciated.
