Sunroof problems 850

Hi, I own a '96 850 Turbo and am having problems with the sunroof. Recently, whenever I push the button to open the sunroof, either to the vent or fully open position, the sunroof will barely move.
I have tried to "rock" the sunroof open by pushing the button open and closed, but no luck. I have moved the sliding iinside cover all the way open and cannot see any obstruction or any other obvious reason that the sunroof will not open.
Has anyone had a similiar problem with your 850 and if so, what was your solution? Whenever I push the sunroof button, the motor will only run for a second or two but yet it responds slightly every time that I push the button.
