Hazard lights come on unexpectedly .... S40-V40

Hi,

We just bought a second hand volvo a few weeks ago and twice, seemingly randomly the hazard lights have come on while starting up the car and remained on. Turning the car on / off does not cause the problem to go away.

Any ideas what could be causing this? DOn't see anything in the manual about this and could not find any references to this problem online.
