Serpentine belt routing--96 850 GLT 850 1996

Replaced Alternator on my 96 850 and have discovered to my horror that I now have excess slack in the Belt--per the Haynes Manual I have the belt routed correctly but have approx 6 inches of slack left over--the tensioner is mounted correctly as there are no other mount points left over--please can someone provide a graphic showing the proper routing and or an idea regarding what i might have changed in the belt path
