Prospective 855R Purchase 850 1996

Once I went through the initial "break in" period (and recalls) the frequency of electrical glitches seemed to decrease. However, I'm now bracing myself for a whole new assortment of glitches. I'm probably a bit paranoid from reading this board. I do carry a couple of lightbulbs and a small spray can of Radio Shack silicone-basec contact cleaner in car. One known issue on the 850 is the window switches which are located right below the cupholder!!

If you know Volvos you won't be surprised by much of anything. I'd expect an RX300 to be more reliable, but a whole lot less fun to drive. (We did try it when we were looking for a new car for my wife. She evenually decided on an Odyssey.)

Also the RX300 is likely to cost a bit more initially.

Good luck!
