ANGLE GEAR / BEVEL GEAR V70-XC70

Is the Angle / bevel Gear a completely separate unit from the Viscous Coupling ? Can you check the oil level of either ? Any maintenance to these ? I have a '99 V70 AWD with 49,000 mi. Is the Haynes '90-'98 manual good for the my '99, for most of the components ? It doesn't seem that there are any mechanical manuals for '99 and later cars, is this correct ? thanks, Tom
