Hi milage V70s

There are literally a ton on V70s on the market in North Carolina. Most seem to be end of lease turn ins. Mileage on these vehicles ranges from 60,000 to 100,000 on a 1998 V70. The question at hand is are these vehicles (specifically the motor and tranny) capable on doing the 200,000 to 300,000 that 240s loaded with B230 motor and AW70 tranny are so famous for. I personally have 180,000 on my 240 and the 20 year old car is falling apart around the motor :) I know this is a crystal ball question because these cars are only five years old but feel free to give your opinion or tell your story so far.

Also since the S70/V70 are so closely related to the 850 can that relationship be used to establish a projection on longevity for the S70/V70? It is almost funny how much more a 1993 240 will go for as opposed to a 93 850. Is this because the reputation on the 240 is so strong? Is the 240 a better car? Is there something to fear about the early 5 cylinder front wheel drive Volvos?

For example I would not hesitate to buy a 1993 Volvo 240 wagon with 150k that was is decent shape and paperwork showing its care over the years. I have not been able to find those same feelings about an 95 850 with 86k of a 98 V70 with 99k on the odometer. Is my hesitation unfounded?
