Tire tread level messes up AWD system? V70-XC70

All tires should be withing 2/32" of each other, best on the front. It's a little known fact, but if you drive a FWD vehicle too long on a donut you can blow apart the differential. The diff is in the tranny on FWD cars, and if the front tires are spinning at different speeds due to the different diameter of them. The diff will go as fast as the smallest, and allow the larger to freewheel.

The same thing happens with the viscous coupling type AWD, except it applies to both axles and on a much smaller scale. The freewheel ability of the viscous coupling is overtaxed. Also the angle gear is put under much greater stress.
