shocks repairs 850 1997

i have to replace my back drivers side shock and thought of upgrading to the bilstein hd, my question is, Do i need to replace all 4 shocks or can i leave the factory ones on the front and replace just the back? also, i found them for $87.50 each, think i could do any better? twin tube vs single any comments? by the way this is going on a 97 850R
