freaked out computer? 850 1994

Yesterday afternoon my 94 855T failed to start for my wife, after running fine for a few trips in the morning. When I got home, I noticed that after attempting to start the car, the cooling fan would run continuously (with the key off, car cold) and the idle air control motor was running also (indefinitely, not like the normal period). I disconnected the battery to make it all stop, searched on the board for a while, then reconnected the battery and the car now starts and runs fine.

Has anyone else had this scenario?

Also, I can't get the codes to flash for the fuel injection or ignition sockets (the trans and ECC sockets work). Is this a sign that things are going wrong?

Thanks, jstewart
