Really? My 98 S70 T5 defintily has boost in first and it will
gladly spin the tires all the way across the intersection (should
you choose to do that, I actually don't).

Do you have an automatic transmission? I assume you do since you say
2 through 4 and not 2 through 5. For automatics, boost is limited
in first but power is only reduced by 10%, or so. For manuals, there
should be no boost limit in first.
